Oatly Announces Trailblazing Product Expansion With Industry-First Oat-Based Cheese
LOS ANGELES — Oatly, the oat-based dairy alternative brand announced today that it is adding a new product to its innovative and growing product line. The 100 percent oat-based cheese will be the first of its kind within the category, revolutionizing the space and further cementing the brand as a leader in the dairy alternative market.
In the United States today, 36 percent of people have lactose malabsorption, the condition that most often leads to lactose intolerance and worsens with age. This intolerance leads to bowel discomfort and often pain when those with the condition consume dairy products containing lactose. As the numbers of people living with lactose malabsorption and intolerance rises, so does the interest in dairy-free alternatives. In 2022, 41 percent of Americans purchased plant-based milk, with 76 percent of these consumers being repeat customers. With these numbers growing year-over-year, Oatly’s upward trend continues.
